The Queen Stitch is the home of needlework designer and teacher Sharlotte A. DeVere.  Here you will find information about the designs, classes and specialty needlework services that are available through The Queen Stitch. 

Sharlotte provides class instruction in a variety of needlework techniques through shops, guilds, workshops and retreats.  Teaching designs can be project specific and come from her current list of class designs or be custom tailored for a specific group or organization.  The picture at the right above is of a design made for the Loudoun Sampler guild as a fund raising project. The small pieces are pins and the larger door hanger was donated as a raffle item.   Classes can also be centered around a specific technique or stitch and taught as a notebook class, which can also include a small design that focuses on the subject of the class.

Sharlotte also creates designs that are sold in chart and/or kit form.  The instructions are quite detailed and generally assume that the stitcher has little experience in the technique being covered.  More advanced designs list techniques that the stitcher must know or learn before working the project, and which are not covered in detail in the instructions.

The Queen Stitch can provide custom designs and custom stitching.  These services are often limited by Sharlotte’s teaching schedule and the availability of her stitching assistants.  The photo at the left above is of a custom designed and stitched mat for a wedding invitation.  The ribbon embroidered, embellished and beaded swag  was designed to compliment the design at the top of the invitation with the framing completed in the Queen Stitch’s custom framing workshop.
