This design is the Grand Prize Winner in PieceWork Magazine Presents The Excellence in Needle Arts Awards -Pincushions 2008.  It is featured on the cover of the July/August issue of PieceWork magazine.  Raspberry Truffle Tuffet is the first in a series of Berry Tuffets, and is a teaching piece available only in a class setting. 

This Tuffet can be taught as an intensive two day class by first teaching a scissor fob design that includes all techniques used in the pincushion.  The students will need to complete the cross stitching for the scissor fob as pre-work.  The first day concentrates on the french knot and beaded slips and the stems and leaves.  The second day we will cover the needlelace sepals and flowers, and the process for finishing.  The finishing and beaded cord for the Tuffet will also be explained and demonstrated and the comprehensive instructions will allow students to finish the piece at home after the class.

Other tuffets and complementary smalls in the series will be additional classes as well as published in chart and/or kit form.  The Blackberry Tuffet has just been published as a magazine design in the PieceWork Nov./Dec. 2008 issue.  Check back often for up-dates on the Berry Tuffets!
